CEREAL REGAINS NO.1 POSITION AS TOP COUPON CATEGORY IN JULY ACCORDING TO COUPONS.COM

Mountain View, Calif. - Aug. 20, 2009 – Cereal jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Top Ten list of the most popular online coupon categories printed in July, according to Coupons.com, the leading network for digital coupons. Cereal regained the top position after relinquishing it to Condiments and Yogurt in May and June, respectively. Yogurt slipped to No. 2 during July.

Ice Cream leaped to the No. 3 position in July, advancing during America's National Ice Cream Month, which celebrates the peak summer ice cream consumption season.

"Coupon usage gives insight into consumer purchasing behavior, so it's no surprise that more people looked for savings on ice cream during the July heat," said Kim Danger, Family Savings Expert for Coupons.com.

For savings advice in August, Danger added, "Most school supplies hit rock-bottom prices this month, so shoppers should be on the lookout for deals on these items and stock up, since prices may not be lower until next year."

Nutritional Snacks took the No. 4 position, and Dessert Items advanced 4 positions to No. 5. Cookies, Dinners/Entrees, and Salty Snacks ranked No. 6, 7, and 8, while Pain Relievers took the No. 9 position, and Pizza rounded out the Top Ten.

"The value of coupons printed from Coupons.com and our digital promotions network was significantly higher in July compared to last year," said Steven Boal, CEO of Coupons.com. "On August 1st we launched our first ever TV advertising campaign titled 'There's A Better Way to Save,' which we believe will continue to drive our growth in August and beyond."
