Sr. Database Developer (Ref: 200SDD430916)

Position Summary:

Coupons Inc is looking for a talented Engineer to develop and enhance database systems to support the ongoing evolution of various online and internal products and insure the proper progression of new and enhanced data base products through their life cycle. Working for the recognized leader in online couponing for the Consumer Packaged Goods market, you will determine which server or servers will be the target for new and enhanced functionalities to the corporate applications.

Position Responsibilities:

Candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data structures, procedures, and functions using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Database in an n-tier environment in support of online real time as well as a bulk email applications.
Candidate will be responsible for coordinating with software developers to provide structure, procedures and functions that are compliant with existing databases and are ready to be tested in Development and QA environments.
Candidate will be responsible for overseeing the work of junior DBAs and coordinating with Production DBAs for implementing the new database objects.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Sciences or related field.
6+ years progressive responsibilities in SQL Server Database Development.
Solid understanding of SQL Server Architecture (SQL Server 2005 exp required).
Must be experienced creating SQL statements, triggers, stored procedures, and data extraction routines to import/export data from the repositories.
Demonstrated expertise in Query Optimization and Tuning, including cross database and cross server queries.
Knowledge and experience in active – passive clusters, log shipping, transactional replication and other advanced SQL Server implementations.
Experience in DB development for 24x7x365 high traffic internet applications environment is a must.
Prior experience working in a startup.
Strong analytical skills and ability to create a database environment to support business requirements.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be a team player and able to meet deadline requirements.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Able to quickly isolate and resolve production performance problems.
Strong initiative and problem solving skills highly desired.
Experience participating in several projects simultaneously that are on diverse timelines.
Clear and concise communication with clients, vendors, management and other team members.
