Sr. Web Developer/Designer (Ref: 600SWD240948)

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Coupons, Inc. Technical Services team, you will design and build the front-end coupon delivery platform for key Clients, Retailers, Affiliates, and Partners. You will be responsible for turning marketing requirements into scalable solutions and will contribute to all aspects of the software development life cycle. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective communication skills, be independent, self motivated, able to work efficiently in a dynamic and demanding environment.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop and lead the creation of standards-compliant, cross-browser-compatible HTML/CSS representations of visual designs with pixel-level accuracy and attention to detail.
Work independently and with a team to create JavaScript and HTML/CSS markup and templates with a strong focus on clarity, maintainability, and cross-browser compatibility.
Work closely with designers, artists, engineers and testers to contribute to the overall user experience.
Participate in requirements gathering and functional specification activities, providing feedback on implementation feasibility as well as navigable prototypes/mockups.
Produce and optimize image assets (including creation of image strips and generating optimal slicing patterns).
Optimize performance of client-side code, taking into account issues of page weight, complexity, SEO, network, user perception, and other effects.
Understand requirements in order to design solutions that deliver value to our customers (clients, advertisers, consumers).
Develop rapid prototypes of potential new products, features, or widgets either as proof of concept or to assist in requirements identification.
Manage competing priorities in a demanding production environment.
Actively participate in high level engineering team activities such as defining architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations.
Work collaboratively with other stakeholders in sales, marketing, operations, and engineering.

Position Qualifications:

BS in CS (or equivalent) and 5-7 years of hands-on software design and development experience.
Keen ability to understand end user experience and business needs.
Extensive experience with Web Technologies (HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSL).
Extensive experience with Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
Data analysis and reporting experience a big plus.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Experience in a high-availability and mission-critical environment.
Strongly prefer candidates who have internet and/or start-up company experience.
Experience with leading and/or mentoring team members highly desired.
