Release Engineer (Ref: 200SRE211024)

Position Summary:

As a key member of Coupons.com, Inc. development team, you will work cross-functionally to release revisions of code to our site. You will be responsible for managing complex code builds and supervising day-to-day code integration activities for a team of developers spanning multiple applications. Coupons.com, Inc. is currently seeking a talented Build & Release Engineer. The incumbent will join a team responsible for all build/release engineering tasks and deployments associated with Coupons.com, Inc. Web applications releases. As a member of our development organization, the Release Engineer will be in charge of our source control system and the build process. We are looking for a highly motivated build and deployment engineer who will deploy systems across development, QA, performance, staging, and production environments. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all build/release engineering tasks associated with product release.
  • Defines, manages and identifies build/release items throughout product lifecycle.
  • Monitors and records changes.
  • May restrict changes to maintain product integrity.
  • Promotes useful and needed change.
  • QA Lab configuration.
  • Responsible for the planning and development of product builds and build release.
  • Ensures that build process adheres to established schedules.
  • Works with development teams to correct build errors.
  • Utilizes and maintains build/release management software.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree or equivalent training and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with a combination of software development, build & release engineering, and configuration management.
  • 2+ yrs of Release Engineering experience building and deploying distributed, data driven, web-based, software solutions to ASP.NET, AJAX, MS SQL and C#/C++ environment with at least weekly releases/production changes.
  • Experience in deploying Web Application in a Microsoft IIS/SQL Server environment.
  • Very strong CVS (revision control system) experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree or equivalent training and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with a combination of software development, build & release engineering, and configuration management.
  • 2+ yrs of Release Engineering experience building and deploying distributed, data driven, web-based, software solutions to ASP.NET, AJAX, MS SQL and C#/C++ environment with at least weekly releases/production changes.
  • Experience in deploying Web Application in a Microsoft IIS/SQL Server environment.

  • Must be proficient with Perl and DOS scripting.
  • Basic SQL.
  • Linux administration is a plus.
  • Windows Administration.
  • Excellent knowledge of build/release management techniques and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work efforts, ensure that tasks are completed on schedule and to provide documented evidence of all software development lifecycle activities to senior management and auditors.
  • Strongly prefer candidates who have internet and/or start-up company experience.
