Steven R. Boal – President & Chief Executive Officer
A former Wall Street executive, Steven Boal founded Coupons.com Incorporated in 1998 and is responsible for its strategic and operational direction. Mr. Boal previously served as vice president of business development for Integral Development Corporation, a privately held financial software company in Silicon Valley. Prior to that, Mr. Boal was vice president and head of global emerging markets derivative technology at J.P. Morgan. Before that, he was president of OptEdge, a real-time options, analytics and risk management business. Mr. Boal also held various management positions at TriStar Market Data, most recently running the company’s Montgomery Securities division. He holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.
Michael R. Walsh – Chief Security Officer & Head of Research & Development
Responsible for technology direction and development at Coupons.com Incorporated, Mike Walsh has been writing software professionally since 1985, contributing to a wide range of products, including compiler tools, electronic publishing software and AI predictive technology. Before joining Coupons.com Incorporated, Mr. Walsh served as chief architect at TriStar Market Data, Inc., the developers of MarketMax, a real-time stock-quote distribution system. Prior to that, he served as a senior software engineer for Harlequin, Inc., as vice president of product development for Torque Systems, as QA consultant for Apple Inc., and as staff software engineer for Arthur Andersen. Mr. Walsh holds a B.S. from California Institute of Technology and an M.S. from Northwestern University.
Richard Hornstein – Chief Financial Officer & General Counsel
Richard (Rich) Hornstein overseesall of Coupons.com Incorporated’s financial, accounting and legal functions, including finance, financial planning and analysis, corporate legal affairs, payroll and tax. He joined the company in 2009 and brings more than 25 years of financial management experience and over 14 years of experience as a chief financial officer and general counsel of rapid-growth and international organizations in both public and private sectors. Mr. Hornstein joined Coupons.com from Financial Intelligence, an accounting services firm, where he was managing director. Before Financial Intelligence, he was chief financial officer at LogLogic, Inc., a provider of log and security management solutions. Prior to LogLogic, Mr. Hornstein was chief financial officer for Elemental Security, a provider of security software policy and risk management solutions, and served as chief financial officer of OpenTV Corp, a publicly traded interactive television software company. Mr. Hornstein was also chief financial officer and general counsel of Resonate, Inc., a publicly traded traffic control and system management company, and also served as general counsel, SVP of corporate development and SVP of taxation for McAfee Associates, Inc. He worked for the Big Four accounting firms of Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and KPMG. Mr. Hornstein also worked for the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. Mr. Hornstein holds a B.A. in Accounting from Queens College, a J.D. from Duke University, and a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University. Mr. Hornstein received his certification as a public accountant in New York in 1987 and was admitted to the bar in 1991.
Sunil Bopardikar – Vice President of Engineering
Sunil Bopardikar is vice president of engineering at Coupons.com Incorporated and oversees the company’s product development functions, including engineering, quality assurance, databases and infrastructure. Mr. Bopardikar joined the company in 2010 and brings more than 20 years of experience in engineering and product development experience. Over the course of his career, he has held a range of positions at high profile Silicon Valley technology companies, including Yahoo! Inc., Oracle Corp. and Sun Microsystems, Inc. Mr. Bopardikar joined Coupons.com from Yahoo!, where he was senior director of engineering and responsible for the technology platform behind many of the company’s popular Web properties. Before Yahoo!, he was director of engineering at Oracle, where he built the Oracle On Demand Platform and was responsible for the introduction of several software as a service (SaaS) offerings. Before his tenure at Oracle, Mr. Bopardikar co-founded, ipSpeech, Inc., where he was CTO for this developer of voice routers. Before that, Mr. Bopardikar held a variety of engineering positions at Telera, Inc., JavaSoft (a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems), AirSoft, Inc., Sun Microsystems, Inc., and Convergent & Altos Computer Systems. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
Daniel Callaghan – Vice President and Corporate Controller
Daniel (Dan) Callaghan is vice president and corporate controller at Coupons.com Incorporated and oversees the company’s accounting functions, including financial reporting, systems management and implementation, and internal controls. He joined the company in 2010 and brings more than 15 years of accounting experience in both corporate and public accounting roles to Coupons.com. Mr. Callaghan joined Coupons.com from ArcSight, Inc., where he was corporate controller for this publicly traded provider of security solutions. At ArcSight, he was responsible for all corporate accounting functions and instrumental in the company’s initial public offering in 2008. Before ArcSight, Mr. Callaghan was corporate controller at SumTotal Systems, Inc., a publicly traded provider of talent management systems. Before that, he was at Harmonic, Inc., a publicly traded provider of video delivery systems, where he was most recently corporate controller of accounting systems. Before entering these in-house positions, Mr. Callaghan spent several years at two Big 4 accounting firms, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and KPMG LLP. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from California State University Los Angeles. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPA’s.
Anthony Espiritu – Vice President of Operations
Anthony (Tony) Espiritu is vice president of operations of Coupons.com Incorporated and oversees the company’s client services, campaign production, coupon clearing, technical services and support functions. He joined the company in 2010 and brings more than 20 years professional experience and expertise in supporting clients with large-scale digital marketing campaigns. Before Coupons.com, Mr. Espiritu was vice president of digital development and delivery for Acxiom, a top agency and technology provider for digital advertising and marketing. Mr. Espiritu joined Acxiom through its acquisition in 2005 of Digital Impact, where he was senior vice president and general manager of marketing operations. During his more-than-10-year tenure at Acxiom and Digital Impact, he also served in several professional services, business development and product leadership positions. Prior to joining Digital Impact, Mr. Espiritu held a variety of product marketing and management positions at Vantive, Quantum, PeopleSoft and Wyse Technology. He began his career at Loral Space and Communications (formerly Ford Aereospace). He holds a B.A.S. with a Double Major in Economics and Biological Sciences from Stanford University and a M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley Walter A. Haas School of Business.
Dave Geary – Vice President of Business Development
Dave Geary is vice president of business development at Coupons.com Incorporated and oversees the business development and strategic partnership activities across all of the company’s products and markets. Mr. Geary joined the company in 2012 and brings more than 18 years of experience in business development, strategy, marketing and sales for online and mobile consumer-focused technology companies. He has held executive business development roles at both venture-backed startups and Fortune 500 companies - notably Ofoto (acquired by Kodak), Kodak, When.com (acquired by AOL), AOL, TasteBook, Inc., and CyberCash. In these positions, he negotiated and closed a range of significant strategic partnerships with technology, media, consumer electronics, online and mobile companies throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Mr. Geary joins Coupons.com from Endeavor, where he was senior vice president for the leading global non-profit supporting entrepreneurship in emerging markets, with operations in 13 countries across Latin America, the Middle East and Turkey. He began his career as a management consultant at the San Francisco Consulting Group. He holds a B.A. in English from Stanford University.
Michele Murgel – Vice President of Human Resources
Michele Murgel is vice president of human resources and oversees all of Coupons.com’s human resources functions, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, training and performance management, workforce planning, organizational development and facilities. Ms. Murgel joined the company in 2012 and brings 25 years of human resources experience, including more than a decade at the executive level. She most recently was executive HR consultant for Zappos.com Inc., focused on employee engagement, leadership development and strategic planning. Prior to her tenure at Zappos.com, Ms. Murgel was at Threewave Software Inc., where she led the human resources function for the fast-growing game development studio. Before that, she was the head of human resources at Macromedia, Inc., overseeing an HR Team of 30, as the company grew from 350 people to well over 1,500 people. She previously led the HR department for Alias Research. In 2010, Ms. Murgel combined her two passions of business and fitness to co-found a Barre-based fitness business in Vancouver. She studied at the University of Toronto and graduated from Humber College of the Applied Arts and Technology.
Bruce Sattley – Vice President of Product Management
Bruce Sattley is the vice president of product management at Coupons.com Incorporated and oversees the company’s product management functions, including product strategy, product research and definition, user experience testing and launch planning. Mr. Sattley joined the company in 2010 and brings 20 years of experience in product management, engineering and marketing. Mr. Sattley spent six years at Yahoo!, where he most recently was vice president of product management. In this role, he managed multiple groups to drive development for analytics, business intelligence and data warehousing products for the Strategic Data Solutions and Advertising Products teams. Mr. Sattley left Yahoo! in 2009 to join Healthiest You, where he was vice president of product management and on the founding team for this provider of unique, brain-based online programs. Before joining Yahoo!, he was vice president of marketing at infoUSA, a leading online direct marketing company. Before that, he held a range of product marketing and engineering positions at YesMail, Netcentives, Inc., Post Communications, Lotus Development Corp., Ernst & Young LLP, and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He holds a B.S. in General Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business.
Shachar Torem – Vice President of Sales
Shachar (Shock) Torem is vice president of sales for Coupons.com Incorporated and oversees the company’s client marketing and sales functions, including the Manufacturer, Retail, and Media teams. Mr. Torem joined the company in 2010 and brings nearly 20 years of experience in business development and brand marketing in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and promotions industries. Before joining Coupons.com, Mr. Torem was most recently executive director of business development at Catalina Marketing Corporation, where he worked on the Procter & Gamble account for more than seven years. Prior to entering the promotion services sector of the industry, he worked for over a decade in various brand and business development capacities for leading edge CPG companies, such as General Mills and Minute Maid. Mr. Torem holds a B.S. in Marketing from Miami University and a M.B.A. from Western Michigan University.
